Cordyceps and Tibetan Goji Berries - Your Must-Haves For That Super Food Diet

My two favorite raw organic superfoods would have to be Cordyceps and Tibetan Goji Berries. Why these tow? For by combining the benefits of these two raw organic superfoods. I would really achieve and maintain the health that I want to have.
Just look at what Cordyceps is all about. It is a superfood that has un-paralleled broad spectrum with very desirable effects on the entire mind-body complex. It can strengthen the immune system, increase libido and sexual performance, support a healthy strong heart and cardiovascular system, increase cellular energy, increase stamina and endurance, support healthy lungs and respiratory system, cellular detoxification, improve memory, increase nutrient absorption, build resistance to stress and anxiety and promote restful productive sleep.
With all it benefits, one thing that really attract me to Cordyceps is its power to dramatically increase stamina. This benefit has even grab the attention of the western world as Cordyceps was the supplements taken by the 1993 Chinese national running team during the Olympics. They achieved 9 new world records that year. That is very impressive for a dark, blade shaped mushroom. Tibet history even tells of the story where local herdsmen fed their cattle and sheep Cordyceps so they can become stronger and increase their natural vigor and vitality.
Then with Tibetan Goji Berries, it is also a raw organic superfood packed with many benefits. They can strengthen the immune system, increase energy, reduce fatigue, reduce the effects of free radicals, engender a sense of well-being and optimism and help curb appetite and over-eating. It can also help the body with strength-building, sexual potency and contains powerful probiotics.
But like Cordyceps one very attractive benefit that stands out for Tibetan Goji Berries is that it is regarded in Tibet as the fruit of longevity. The story goes that a doctor discovered an ancient study who lived in the remote areas of Himalayas who had members living longer over 100 years. These old members did not look old for they were still in great health and strength. They had no grey hair and still had their teeth intact. Their secret was Tibetan Goji Berries.
Now imagine this, if I combine Cordyceps stamina and the longevity benefit of Tibetan Goji Berries. Then I would definitely live longer and stronger. Imagine that. That would definitely be awesome, right?
Then if I still wanted other benefits then I would just simply add more raw organic superfoods to my diet. Island Fire, ImmuneDetox, Sacred Chocolate and Marine Phytoplanktons would be good additions. That would simply be awesome!
Now, who wants to live forever? Well, maybe not forever but at least a little longer. See you in the future, Bye!

What Are Cordyceps?

Cordycep is a fungus or mushroom which gets into a caterpillar and sprouts in a fruit shape from the ground right from the body of the caterpillar. It comes in the family of mushroom. It is also believed that they can attack the insects and make them do what they like.
Very few people know that the delicious mushroom dishes we eat are the outcome of some dead insects. The farmer who works in the field knows this fact. Because, while digging the field they come across these caterpillars who live inside the earth. These caterpillars are eco friendly as the holes they make below the field make it fertile. The fungus attacks such caterpillar and after sometime the mushroom sprouts out of the body of the caterpillar. If you go to village area and see the first rain, some flying ants come out of the ground in so many numbers. Next day if you go to see the ground small size mushrooms are sprouted out of the body of the flying ants. So cordycep is also from the same family. But it is used as traditional medicine in Asian countries, especially in China and Japan. Further, cordycep is very difficult to farm like the button mushroom we eat.
It is said that cordycep has the medicinal value to increase our immune system. There is also a saying that the Japanese and Chinese have very long life because they know this secret. Cordycep has come in the market also as some companies have started to manufacture them in bulk in artificial condition. But, it is always advisable to go to a reputed company as all dried mushroom look alike. It is said that the pure cordyceps sold by the reputed Chinese herbal specialist is very costly. So, in spite of its tempting advantages we should not take it without authorized doctor`s advice.

Cordyceps - Strengthens The Lungs, Restore Health And Promotes Longevity

The benefits of cordyceps were first discovered 1,500 years ago when cowherds up in the Tibetan mountains observed their cattle becoming more energetic and youthful in their eating this tiny grass like mushroom. Since then, cordyceps has been used as one of the most effective tonic for many health problems. It helps to strengthens the body, improve organ functions, boost body resistance and promote longevity. As it contains both yin and yang, cordyceps can be used by anyone safely for over long period of time. It is also often recommended for those who are recovering from illness or a surgery, or after childbirth.
Cordyceps is commonly prescribed for the treatment of asthma, coughs, weak lung, wheezing, and shortness of breath and to reduce phlegm. Cordyceps invigorates the "lung meridian" and hence is useful for the treatment and prevention of respiratory problems. It can be used to strengthen the respiratory tract of those who require extra energy in order to perform physical work (e.g hard labour, sport or exercise).
Practitioners frequently use cordyceps to treat general weakness and debilitation. It generally improves energy, endurance and helps fight fatigue or extreme tiredness and alleviates the negative effects of stress. Indeed, cordyceps is a great tonic for anyone who leads a very busy life and need extra energy as it also improve sleep patterns, aids proper transportation of nutrients in the body, and boost cellular oxygenation. If you have been suffering from frequent tiredness and have been unsuccessful despite trying many remedies, you should consider taking cordyceps.
Cordyceps is considered to be one of the best natural aphrodisiacs or sexual tonics available. Although it is not as quick as deer antler, horny goat weed and sea dragon, cordyceps has a more profound effect in strengthening the sexual function. As a powerful Yang tonics, it fortifies the kidney channel, responsible for sexual energy and desire. Traditionally, cordyceps is used in china as a remedy for sexual dysfunction in males, especially for erectile dysfunction, impotence and infertility. It effectively improves libido, sexual desire and performance, physical endurance and energy. Numerous studies have shown that cordyceps stimulates testosterone release and relaxes the smooth muscle of the corpus cavernosum in the penis, improving blood flow for stronger erections and improved sexual sensations. Studies performed at Beijing medical university reported a 64% success rate among men suffering from impotence.
Cordyceps is a popular traditional anti-ageing tonic for body rejuvenation and to promote longevity. It replenishes Yin and Yang energy, restoring strength after physical or mental exertion, and protects from the age accelerating effects of stress. Studies confirmed that cordyceps increases the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), a powerful antioxidant in the body. As a potent antioxidant itself, cordyceps also helps to quench free radicals that cause premature ageing and other common degenerative diseases.
Cordyceps has been shown to lower the LDL "bad" cholesterol while increasing the HDL "good" cholesterol level. It also helps to prevent the oxidation of LDL "bad" cholesterol and "thins" the blood to prevent plaque or clot formation that may block the blood vessels. This helps to reduce the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Studies and clinical trials have also shown that patients with various forms of heart diseases have made remarkable recovery and improvement when given cordyceps in addition to their prescribed drugs.
The kidneys are known as "the root of life" and cordyceps has primarily been used to remedy kidneys conditions. Modern research have also confirmed that cordyceps can indeed protect the kidney and improve its functions. Cordyceps have even been found to be useful for kidney transplant patients. However, the use of cordyceps for kidney problems should be well monitored by qualified mediacal personnel.
Traditionally, cordyceps has been used to strengthen the body's defences against infections, and recent clinical studies confirmed it is a potent immune booster. It stimulates the production of immune cells such as the macrophages, lymphocytes, T helper cells and interleukin in the body. Cordyceps is also an exceptional immune regulator, where it increases the activities of "underactive" immune cells while suppressing the "overactive" ones.
Studies on cordyceps, inhibiting efffects on cancer cells have been done since 1970s in China. These studies indicated that cordyceps helps reduce tumor size, improves cancer patients tolerance to chemotherapy and radiation, and reduce the toxic effects of these treatments on the bone marrow. Further studies also showed that cordyceps contained anti tumour properties and activates natural killer.

Chinese Herbs - Cordyceps for Stamina and Vitality

Our living environment has become increasingly more polluted, our diets unhealthy with processed foods that are full of preservative, harmful fats, refined carbohydrates, and sugars which fill our stomach but do not nourish our body optimally. On top of that we are leading very busy, hectic, and stressful lifestyles. Even though we boast to have the best and modern time-saving electrical gadgets and appliances most people are left with no time or no stamina for exercise which everyone knows is vital for health.
All these have put a great deal of strain on our immune system which has to constantly function on a hyper mode, trying hard to neutralize the environmental pollutants we are exposed to and ingested toxins from foods and drugs, trying to help your body maintain a state of homeostasis or balance for optimum health. When this physiological balance is not restored, the common physical symptoms that will manifest are:
  • allergies
  • cancer
  • cardiovascular disease
  • obesity
  • chronic fatigue syndrome
  • depression
  • aging prematurely

The immune system is a complex network of specialized cells and organs such as the spleen, thymus and bone marrow that defense any foreign viruses or bacterial when they invade your body. We get sickly easily because of an impaired immune system. T-cells is a product of the thymus gland which protects you against harmful bacteria, viruses, and parasites, but it shrinks as we age, reducing the production of T-cells. This is why it's so important to boost your immune system as you get older to avoid sickness. Many are searching for natural healthy diets, nutrition supplementation and exercise to nourish and strengthen their immune system to work more efficiently.
The discovery of medicinal mushrooms such as cordyceps and ganoderma lucidum (reishi) or Lingzhi has been documented in many reputable studies on its ability to restore our bodies' balance and natural resistance to disease.
What is Cordyceps?
Cordyceps or Cordyceps Sinensis is a rare parasitic organism grows primarily on the Tibetan plateau at high altitudes of 14,000 feet. In Chinese, its name means 'winter worm, summer grass' or "caterpillar fungus." It is nature's cross marriage of the insect and plant kingdom. When it was first discovered about 2000 years ago the Chinese thought the herb was a worm. The fungus mushroom is a product from a type of fungus which parasites upon the larvae of the Chongcao bat moth and forms a fungus/larva composite body, and it takes five to seven years to complete its life cycle.
As part of the Chinese culinary delicacy, the cordyceps mushroom was used in soups and brews with pork and poultry. Due to its scarcity and high price, its use was reserved exclusively for the Emperor's Palace in China. Cordyceps has been recognized for centuries and has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). For generations, it has been considered the premier agent in the Chinese culture for:
  • restoring energy
  • longevity and quality of health
  • treating lung problems
  • strengthening kidney functions
In 1993, three women Chinese athletes set new world records in the National Games in China. Their coach attributed their success to intensive training and supplementation with the cordyceps mushroom. Today many scientific studies have proven the numerous health benefits from this fungus.
Recently, a small study presented at the American College of Sports Medicine annual meeting (1999), showed that a cordyceps-based supplement (CordyMax, Pharmanex) significantly increases maximal oxygen uptake and anaerobic threshold, which may lead to improved exercise capacity and resistance to fatigue.
Health Benefits of Cordyceps:
  • enhances endurance, stamina and exercise performance
  • reduces fatigue
  • relieves asthma
  • fights sexual dysfunction
  • improves libido in man and woman
  • promotes healthy lung function
  • improves kidney and liver functions through metabolizing and excreting toxic substances
  • promotes healthy cholesterol levels
  • improves respiratory functions
  • promotes natural vitality
Everyone from young to old can enjoy the benefits from cordyceps mushroom which is sold in forms of its natural dry fruiting body, powdered form, tinctures, dietary supplement or in tonic soups.
